Overview

The Corporate Communications Specialist will ensure the company’s purpose, values, and culture are integrated into communication consistently across all internal and external channels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal communications activities including writing, editing, and distributing company-wide communications across multiple channels
  • Maintain a strong relationships within Cook Biotech and Cook Corporate Communications to properly administer external communications such as public relations, social media, and crisis communication protocol and coordinate internal employee communication in alignment with corporate direction
  • Coordinate with Leadership to thoroughly understand the business strategy, activate internal and external audiences in support of those goals, and ensure clear and consistent messaging to employees
  • Assist in the strategic development of content for internal meetings and events
  • Provide presentation and communication support to company management; and curate stories of the company and its employees while finding creative ways to communicate those stories
  • Manage projects in an efficient manner by establishing and maintaining timelines and communicating with project teams
  • In collaboration with Cook Biotech marketing team, coordinate and participate in the creative process of a project, its related activities, maintenance and promotional endeavors
  • Gather feedback and data from employees and other key audiences and present information to clarify communication issues that help develop direction for execution and future strategic investments/opportunities for growth
  • Provide guidance of how the company’s position is executed in a wide range of communication channels, including, events, education, speeches, symposia, digital, social and other various marketing mediums
  • Adapt and localize communications for global distribution
  • Provide CBI facility tours, educating guests on CBI’s technology while maintaining intellectual property
  • Respond to media contacts and requests by providing appropriate written, visual or oral information, as needed
  • Support CBI employees in providing interviews
  • Remain current and apply the understanding of FDA-ISO 13485 and Quality System requirements in carrying out duties

Qualifications

  • Ability to produce content and finished communication pieces in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying scope and urgent requests simultaneously
  • Decision-making, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and style to effectively communicate to both a lay and professional audience
  • Thorough understanding of the professional print process and vendor requirements to correctly prepare files for print
  • Thorough understanding of digital requirements for displaying content electronically, including digital displays, websites, e-newsletters, and mobile applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations or related field and over five years of experience.
  • Advanced skills in writing, copy editing, and social media

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals used in the manufacture of the product.
  • Physical demands are typical of an office and classroom environment.
  • Able to work in hybrid environment, expectation is 2 days per week in the office in West Lafayette, IN
