Overview

The IT System Administrator at Cook Medical will provide technical hands-on expertise in the day-to-day operations of Cook Medical's servers and storage area network in the data center.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide creative and innovative solutions to IT needs.
• Maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
• Perform data backups and disaster recoveries.
• Ensure systems meet regulatory and internal functional standards.
• Provide emergency on-call support for system or network issues and perform occasional after-hours/weekend maintenance updates to systems and servers.
• Provide liaison support for IT and consulting companies as needed.

• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations and plan and manage tasks to timely completion and appropriately escalate issues.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer related discipline or equivalent experience

• Advanced degree or verifiable equivalent experience preferred

• 5+ years’ experience in cloud operations preferred (ex. Azure and AWS)

• 5+ years’ experience in automation preferred (ex. vRealize Automation)

• 5+ years’ experience in authentication preferred (ex. Active Directory, AzureAD, ADFS etc.)

• 5+ years’ experience in identity management preferred (ex. Microsoft Identity Management)

• Comfortable in a command line interface such as PowerCLI or PowerShell

• Experience with diagnosis and resolution of system level failures
