The Health Economics Manager at Cook Medical leads the development and management of a new Health Economics team. They are responsible for generating health economic evidence and prospective strategies to support adoption of new and existing technologies. Primary focus of the position is the US market.



• Lead and manage the US Health Economics team.

• Shape the business objectives for US Health Economics team which includes developing, providing input to, and executing strategies to optimize market access and commercial success for new and existing technologies.

• Work closely with multiple cross functional partners, including the sales divisions, R&D, clinical, marketing, and regulatory.

• In collaboration with relevant functions and divisions, develop robust value propositions based on stakeholder needs.

• Develop value dossiers and an evidence strategy early in product development that supports the value proposition of new technologies.

• Support HEOR projects in alignment with clinical evidence generation strategy to enhance the value messages.

• Develop and utilize different health economics models (i.e. budget impact models, cost-effectiveness models) to communicate the public health impact and economic value of Cook technologies to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, such as payers and providers.

• Support sales divisions by developing value message communications and conducting health economic impact models for large accounts and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).

• Interact regularly with external customers to assist with describing the value proposition.

• Execute and manage projects with academia, external collaborators and vendors to ensure timely completion and quality of deliverables as well as budget and legal compliance.

• Provide input to health technology assessments and clinical guideline revisions.

• Monitor, analyze and communicate relevant developments in HTA and value based healthcare.

• Train relevant staff in health economics and product value propositions.

• Day-to-day support on health economics matters.


• Advanced graduate degree (Ph. D. or Master's Degree) in Health Economics.

• Minimum of 7+ years of work experience in market access and Health Economics, hospital cost accounting, or related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of management experience. 

• Experience in health economic modelling.

• Broad knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and communicate with internal and external partners.

• Can work independently, is detailed/technically oriented and has commercial awareness.

• Ability to travel.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Works under general office environmental conditions.
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
Some travel (domestic and international) required.

• This position can be a remote position, but may require occasional visits into a Cook facility. 
• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences.
