The Health Economics Specialist at Cook Medical is responsible for generating health economic evidence and prospective strategies to support adoption of new and existing technologies. Primary focus of the position is the US market.


• Provide input to the market access strategy for new and existing technologies.

• Develop value propositions and value dossiers and generate health economic evidence to support product adoption.

• In collaboration with relevant functions and divisions, develop an evidence strategy early in product development that supports the value proposition of new technologies.

• Support sales divisions by developing value message communications and conducting health economic impact models for large accounts and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).

• Provide input to health technology assessments and clinical guideline revisions.

• Monitor, analyze and communicate relevant developments in HTA and value based healthcare.

• Develop and manage consultant relationships and ongoing projects.

• Train relevant staff in health economics and product value propositions.

• Day-to-day support on health economics matters.


• Advanced graduate degree (Ph. D. or Master's Degree) in health economics.

• Minimum of 2+ years of work experience in market access and health economics, hospital cost accounting, or related field.

• Experience in health economic modelling.

• Broad knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and communicate with internal and external partners.

• Can work independently, is detailed/technically oriented and has commercial awareness.

• Ability to travel.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Works under general office environmental conditions.
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
Some travel (domestic and international) required.

• This position is a remote position, but may require occasional visits into a Cook facility. 
• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences.
