Overview

The Engineering Specialist at Cook Vandergrift supports the Engineering department in all areas of responsibility, working either independently, or as a team member, as determined by manager.

Responsibilities

• Address manufacturing issues and provide technical support while ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System
• Assist with the repair, preventative maintenance and qualification of manufacturing and test equipment
• Develop and review manufacturing specifications. Coordinate the release of documents through the change control process
• Lead cross functional teams to train personnel and provide feedback on manufacturing processes to maintain Good Manufacturing Practices
• Assist with the building, testing and validation of production prototypes and tooling
• Support and identify corrective actions and continuous improvements
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Works independently on assigned tasks referring questions and problems to the project leader or engineering manager
• Must be willing to take on tasks with unclear or uncertain results and deal with them accordingly
• Must demonstrate responsibility for the quality & financial aspects of the company
• Will actively learn and update skills needed to perform tasks using all tools (software and hardware) mandated by the corporation
• Will actively learn and update skills needed to keep up to date on all projects assigned and will seek assistance if needed to solve assigned problems
• Responsible for compliance to the company's Quality Policy Manual and Procedures
• Responsible for compliance to the company's safety policies
• Must maintain a positive and professional representation of the company in the field
• Must maintain confidential access to the company's new and/or existing products and processes

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline
• A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience is preferred
• Must pass a post-offer physical exam and drug test
• Ability to write clear and unambiguous English
• Must possess good reading and verbal communication skills
• Must possess basic mechanical drawing skills

• Basic computer and software skills
• Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills in order to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations
• Ability to get along with others within the facility and in the field

 

Physical Requirements:

• Good visual acuity
• Good manual dexterity
• Ability, on occasion to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
• Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals and material

• Majority of day spent in controlled and uncontrolled indoor environment
