Overview

The Solution Manager at Cook Medical is responsible for the overall design of the solution and for the oversight of decisions within the project. In alignment with enterprise architects, the Solutions Manager works closely with a team of Business System Analysts, Software Engineers, Application Engineers, UX Designers and others to ensure a high quality, well designed solution is delivered to our business partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the project team members to ensure that functionality is both achievable and feasible, meets our Business Partners expectations and delivered in an acceptable timeframe
• Work with members of the team to ensure that the solution design and implementation meets the architectural goals and applicable standards
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential risks
• Work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams to deliver well-designed quality solutions
• Identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently
• Support external vendor relationships in collaboration with COP Managers and the Vendor Manager
• Ensure required documentation is created and maintained thoroughly and appropriately while following company processes and procedures

• Manage relationship with implementation partners and third party resources
• Provide input into operational process improvements
• Provide leadership and direction to all team members,
• Responsible for identifying the resources and skills needed to execute within the team
• Ensure the team is being financially responsible

• Drive automation needed to enable Continuous Delivery

• Research and assess new tools and technologies

• Research and innovate new deployment strategies  to implement CI/CD

• Design and optimize CI/CD value streams within an agile environment

• Develop processes and implement tools to minimize deployment times and eliminate manual errors.

• Develop CI/CD pipeline automation

• Work with development teams to create build scripts and configure CI/CD pipelines

• Ensure builds are deployed correctly to target environments

• Build and maintain tools needed for release management

• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must maintain company quality standards
• Must have effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline, or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
• Minimum 5 years experience in Information Technology or related field
• Experience in management preferred

• Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities

• Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and practices

• Experience in an Agile environment

• Experience with full Software Development Lifecycle

• Experience with development, build, and continuous integration environments and branching strategies.

• Experience and familiarity with tools and technologies such as Node.js, Java, .Net, MuleSoft RTF, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Docker, and Kubernetes

• Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools (Jenkins/Blue Ocean, Octopus Deploy, Nexus, BitBucket, Ansible, etc.)

• Experience as a participant in a scrum environment (creating stories, participating in stand-ups, etc.)

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk

• Experience with Jira

• Experience with Rest APIs

• Experience with integrations between applications/systems

• Working knowledge of messaging systems such as RabbitMQ

 

Physical Requirements:

• Works under general office environmental conditions
• Sitting for extended periods
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.

• Requires ability to work outside normal working hours and occasional weekends/holidays
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
• International and domestic travel as required
