Overview

The Cook Vandergrift Plant Financial Controller provides financial leadership to the manufacturing site as an integral part of the leadership team. This position is responsible for identifying and driving improvements within the operations and financial performance. In addition this position will also manage and drive improvements in cost accounting, financial reporting, planning, and operational controlling.

Responsibilities

• Plays a key role in establishing the financial direction for the site, coordinates, consolidates, and analyzes financial results, plans, and forecasts
• Prepares complex financial analyses for various business opportunities, accesses associated risks, and makes recommendations
• Conducts the month end cost accounting close process
• Analyzes and interprets actual results/cost trends, explains key variances, and makes recommendations for action
• Works together with business partners in order to determine reporting needs and delivers clear reports and presentations, utilizing a variety of software packages
• Ability to influence decisions cross-functionally
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate a company vision and mission
• Provide and analyze financial information in support of annual audit

• Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
• Contributes as a strong member of the global Operations Finance team that works to drive consistency and continuous improvement

• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
• Must have effective oral, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, CPA/CMA or MBA preferred
• 3-5 years operations finance experience with strong working knowledge of financial and non-financial metrics, lean manufacturing practices, and product costing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven problem solving skills
• Strong organization skills
• High level of self-motivation
• Microsoft office experience required, Oracle & SAP Business Objects preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

• General office environment
• Ability to work from home when needed
• Sitting for extended periods
• Requires close visual acuity when working with computers, etc.
