The Written Content Specialist creates and maintains written content for divisional marketing materials and communications. The Written Content Specialist works with designers to develop attention-getting, user-friendly materials to inform, inspire, and engage employees. Examples of writing projects may include catalogs, ad copy, instructions, white papers, video scripts, and training materials.
Write/edit content for internal and external communications, marketing and product materials
Collaborate and brainstorm with team: designers, writers, managers
Help internal customers identify the goal of communication and key points in order to write concise copy consistent with the brand voice
Research topics in order to communicate information clearly to audiences with various levels of knowledge
Proactively seek out subject matter experts and information to improve the quality of the material
Maintain version control of copy files and use project management tools to document progress, changes, and approvals of projects
Manage deadlines and priorities for multiple projects simultaneously
Develop relationships and obtain buy-in from key stakeholders
Use Cook tone and voice, follow Cook editorial style guide, and maintain consistency in communications across channels
Maintain awareness of current trends and skills relevant to the role
Must have effective oral and written communications throughout various levels of the organization
Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the organization to achieve company goals
Must strictly adhere to safety requirements and maintain regular and punctual attendance
Must have excellent problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and open-minded.
Meet deadlines and complete administrative tasks such as expenses, training, reporting, policy acknowledgements, etc. in a timely manner.
Within scope of responsibility, ensure all quality, regulatory, and product specific requirements are met.
Understand and be accountable for conducting Cook business with integrity and in compliance with applicable standards including Cook policy.

2-4 years of professional writing experience, a strong background in clinical or technical writing is preferred
Strong understanding of content creation across multiple mediums and brand marketing principles
Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, concise copy using the language of the audience
Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism or other related area
Strong editing, writing and grammatical skills
Skillful use of word processing and spreadsheet software
SEO and campaign experience a plus

Works under general office environmental conditions.
