Overview

The Accounts Receivable Team Lead provides leadership and daily oversight to the North America Accounts Receivable Shared Service team. This role oversees tasks performed by staff to ensure a high level of accuracy and customer service both internally and externally. The role also has a strong focus on improving efficiencies, improving the customer experience, and achieving department goals and targets.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and balance team workload, ensuring the team is responding to customer inquiries in a timely, friendly and empathetic manner and achieving targeted Service Level Agreements (SLA)
• Manage multiple people, tasks, and priorities through strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Personnel development through training, delegation and mentorship
• Perform team member reviews, approve time sheet, and execute disciplinary action in accordance with HR policy if needed
• Assign clear ownership of AR duties and help cross-train team members to ensure continuation of coverage when employees take vacation or are sick
• With input from internal teams, implement new processes and procedures to minimize credit risk and maximize collection efforts
• Work closely with AR leadership to drive standardization and automation
• Align individual and team goals/objectives and ensure alignment with AR global and regional goals
• Partner with sales and customer service to escalate issues and resolve in a timely manner
• Ensure the complete, accurate and timely processing of all transactions
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across the organization at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to delegate and prioritize responsibilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical with high attention to detail
• Execute and drive special projects as needed to improve effectiveness and efficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting

• At least 2 years of management experience leading a team, team-building, and employee development required
• 4+ years of accounting / finance experience, experience in credit & collections required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

 

Physical Requirements:

• Works under general office environmental conditions
• Sitting for extended periods
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment
