  • Overview

    The Marketing Specialist at Cook Medical is responsible for providing market-driven focus, guidance and long-term brand vision for business units and their products. In addition, this role supports strategic and execution of global business/business unit marketing initiatives while working closely with the brand marketing and product managers. Using a blend of creative skills, customer insights and business-building strategies, Marketing Specialists will strive to assist in developing market positioning and marketing opportunities for their dedicated Cook Medical company and business unit solutions. Marketing Specialists are expected to be passionate, ambitious, imaginative and self-educated. They have an understanding of cost and time implications and an awareness of the best ways to manage a customer's relationship with Cook brands and the markets in which they serve.

    Responsibilities

    - Work closely with all strategic business unit marketing teams to help facilitate strategic planning.
    - Provide business unit input and guidance on key internal and external events, working with events teams, coordinators, external Cook partners.
    - Collaborate with the Marketing Communications team for the business unit, ensuring all tasks are clearly defined and completed within given time lines. Continuously work to improve this process.
    - Optimize use of go-to-market strategies for Cook products and various marketing channels.
    - Develop and strengthen the digital presence of the SBU within the Cook framework.
    - Work effectively and efficiently to assist in managing business unit brand portfolios, work in tandem with business unit & other Cook Medical teams.
    - Maintain the high-valued and premium quality of the Cook Medical brands, equal to that of Cook products.

    - Assist in the development of market positioning of Cook brands while distinguishing between personal preference and what’s best for a customer, always including their insights.
    - Give input into communication briefs by gathering information and data to clarify brand issues—develop or assist in creation of project briefs.
    - Help create synergy between positioning, copy and visual solutions.
    - Create global synergy for how a brand’s position affects a multi-language audience.
    - Seek new ideas for business unit communication to improve customer loyalty, employee beliefs, brand perceptions and/or ROI.
    - Facilitate synergy between positioning, copy and visual solutions.

    - Facilitate and brainstorm strategic brand directions, gaining buy-in throughout a working process, oftentimes working more than one solution.
    - Provide assistance of how a brand’s position is executed in a wide range of marketing communication channels.

    - Keep abreast of new developments in innovative brand marketing programs, industry and professional education.

    - Follow all quality systems processes, maintain tight deadlines, perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    - Minimum of 4 year degree - Marketing degree preferred.
    - Proficient in Microsoft Office and creative programs such as Adobe products preferred.
    - Digital Marketing focus or experience would be beneficial.
    - Medical device or healthcare marketing experience an advantage.

     

    - Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
    - Work is performed in a normal office environment in which the majority of the time is spent sitting and moving between various offices.
    - Up to 25% of the time is spent traveling to various public places.
