  • Overview

    The Production Supervisor at K-Tube Technologies will direct the manufacturing activities of the fiber optic department in support of the company’s strategic plan.  This individual will be responsible for the design, operation, and implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve product quality.  The Production Supervisor will supervise the activities of machine operators to meet production schedules and quality and service requirements

    Responsibilities

    • Analyzes process design and recommends improvements to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization
    • Develops and implements Lean Manufacturing strategies in order to accomplish business objectives, identifies process bottlenecks and devises solutions to resolve
    • Collects and analyzes data describing the organization's manufacturing processes in terms of output, labor costs, cost of raw materials or other overhead, and quality of finished goods
    • Assigns workload to machine operators to ensure production schedule is met
    • In line with the corporate plan, trains and develops qualified direct reports and sets performance expectations
    • Evaluates and documents operator performance and training needs. Certifies operators to production processes
    • Monitors operator production to ensure quality and quantity standards are met.  Delegates authority to operators to stop production for quality issues
    • Verifies compliance to work procedures and communicates recommendations for revisions to procedures to the appropriate department
    • Interacts and communicates cross-functionally to produce cohesive efforts towards accomplishing department goals.  Reinforces an environment of teamwork and collaboration
    • Reports and verifies operators work hours for job costing and payroll purposes
    • Investigates and reports injuries to Human Resource Department
    • Assists in the disposition of discrepant material
    • Uses the company disciplinary policy when needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 5 years of Supervisory experience in Manufacturing
    • Demonstrated experience in working with Lean methodologies:

    • Must have demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills
    • Oral/written communication skills
    • Analytical skills
    • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Power Point
     

    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Light to moderate physical effort required
    • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility
    • Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment
    • Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials

    • Safety glasses and safety shoes are required
