  • Overview

    The Process Development Scientist at Cook Myosite Inc. will be responsible for conducting technical and scientific work in support of ongoing process development for cell therapy products.  



    • Assists in all areas of manufacturing process development, including discovery, design, development, improvement, implementation, pre-validation, and validation support
    • Identifies and evaluates processing methods, and related equipment and technology
    • Identifies and evaluates new test methods, related equipment and technology for assessing process and product quality characteristics
    • Acts as a resource to provide technical and scientific troubleshooting support to company departments, as needed, in area(s) of expertise
    • Assists in the evaluation and transfer of new technology and processes
    • Works with department management to identify and develop objectives and timelines in support of new and ongoing development projects
    • Where needed, develops scientific and technical expertise and capabilities as necessary for project completion
    • Prepares technical and scientifically accurate reports and presentations for internal and external use
    • Strengthens and supports the development of intellectual property
    • Performs research, analyzes and summarizes data, participates in the interpretation of results and formulation of appropriate recommendations
    • Effectively tracks and communicates with department management regarding project progress and milestones via regular meetings, scientific presentations and/or written reports
    • Maintains work area including maintenance and operation of equipment, and preparation and sanitization of work areas where appropriate
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance

    • Undergraduate degree in Life Sciences or Engineering at minimum; advanced degree preferred
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment in conducting and interpreting scientific research
    • Ability and desire to acquire knowledge in related area(s) of research
    • Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, independent thought, problem-solving, and scientific creativity
    • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with other departments/groups
    • Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability follow complex processes, procedures and systems
    • Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to execute goals set by the organization and Department Manager
    • Willingness and capability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other general office equipment
    • Must maintain a high level of professionalism, business acumen
    • Must have effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
    • Maintain composure and competence under stressful situations; flexibility and adaptability
    • Ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
    • Basic understanding of cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and related regulations associated with Bio/Pharmaceutical product manufacturing
