  • Overview

    The Network Administrator position at Cook Advanced Technologies will be responsible for the network design, management, and daily operations of Cisco firewalls, routers, and switch devices in the environment.


    • Network design and implementation including: structured cabling, switch deployment and management, firewall and router management, VPN, and remote site installation and maintenance
    • Maintain all network equipment
    • Work closely with system administrator; and other team members
    • Ensure network security and connectivity
    • Specify system requirements and design solutions
    • 24 x 7 on call availability
    • Work closely with Management to determine future network needs and plan for network changes
    • Effective problem-solving skills


    • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and/or 3+ years of medium/large corporate experience
    • CCNA Certification
    • Network infrastructure experience (switches, routers, firewalls)
    • Basic skills in configuring Cisco PIX firewall
    • Knowledge of client/server, application development
    • Basic knowledge of HTML, SQL, etc.
    • Excellent organizational skills and prioritizing skills
    • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities along with fluctuations in work load
    • Ability to work within strict time constraints
    • Extreme attention to detail
    • Teachable attitude/willingness to learn
    • Desire to constantly learn and improve upon oneself and the organization
    • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere
    • System administration skills a plus
    • Familiarity with VMWare, Windows Server 2012, and Exchange


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift 50lbs
