  • Overview

    The CAD Specialist position at MED Institute is responsible for various aspects of the medical device product development process including but not limited to computer modeling and simulation, specifically finite element analyses, and occasionally performing mechanical experiments.  


    This position requires a technically sound engineer or technologist capable of driving a project to completion by utilizing available tools and resources and communicating well with colleagues and clients.  Other activities may include standard committee involvement, marketing and sales of our services, engineering design, and development of computer simulation capabilities


    • Bachelor's degree is required in Engineering or Engineering Technology with specific experience in computational analysis (e.g., finite element analysis and supporting CAD technologies)
    • Strong CAD skills are a must and MATLAB experience is highly desirable
    • Strong hands on experimental skills and mechanical abilities
    • Ability to find solutions to technical problems with an eye toward providing practical solutions in a timely manner
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, recordkeeping and interpersonal skills are needed
    • Must be willing to work in a team setting and willing to be trained
    • Ability to remain professional and positive in all personal interactions, provide an example of good work ethic, exhibit a willingness to help, and display personal discipline in achieving goals
    • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. MED Institute does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
