Overview

Cook MyoSite Incorporated, a division of Cook Incorporated, is a growing, forward-thinking biotechnology organization seeking a full time Market Access Specialist.  The Market Access Specialist will support cross functional teams to develop and execute global market access and pricing strategies; work with payers and global markets to seek coverage, coding, and payment for reimbursement; use health economic data to create value propositions for payer, patient, and physician; provide input on endpoints and study design for clinical trials and market research studies; and serve as vendor manager/project manager during collaborations with external vendors and consultants.

 

Responsibilities

• Design and drive the strategic plan for the Market Access & Customer Solutions function to increase/maintain market share and achieve company business objectives
• Work with rest of business team to develop sound commercialization strategies
• Collaborate with marketing to develop payer value propositions, targeted messaging, appropriate programs, and tools to effectively address payer and provider needs
• Develop method to measure and analyze future performance of market access strategy
• Continuously analyze the market in terms of coverage and reimbursement issues that could potentially impact future Cook MyoSite products, existing and emerging payer policies, formulary listings, competitive landscape, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, and potential barriers to provider and patient access
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements with respect to market access and reimbursement
• Provide payer insights to understand/meet the needs of all types of payers in key markets
• Remain the 'Voice of the Payer' in cross functional and interdepartmental meetings and collaborations
• Coordinate with market research to develop strategic research methods with the end customer in mind to educate pricing, reimbursement, and market access as well as market uptake
• Effectively translate results of health economics and other research into clear and concise messages for specific internal audiences that highlight the value of specific products and applications
• Develop and maintain key relationships with providers, payers, consultants, and internal global teams as appropriate
• Lead the development and presentation of tools and trainings
• Manage external vendors in accordance with MyoSite vendor management policies
• Build infrastructure and internal expertise on reimbursement and market access best practices
• Present information to Executive audience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical managed markets/market access or a managed markets agency servicing the pharmaceutical industry
• Exceptional persuasive written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to present the facts and put forth hypothesis in the face of differing opinions
• Functional experience in reimbursement or HEOR is highly desirable.
• Broad technical knowledge of health economics and outcomes research, including proficiency in design and executive of economic modeling studies used in dossiers supporting formulary inclusion, and pricing of medical devices
• Understanding of international health care systems and reimbursement desirable
• Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to execute goals set by the organization and Department Manager
• Proficiency in MS Office and other general office equipment.
