Overview

Cook MyoSite Incorporated, a division of Cook Incorporated, is a growing, forward-thinking biotechnology organization seeking a full time Laboratory Support Technican. The role of Laboratory Support Technicaian will be responsible for performing routinely scheduled sanitization events of the manufacturing suite and equipment, maintaining adequate availability of resources, and other supportive tasks to ensure the uninterrupted manufacturing of products which meet company and Quality System standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Executes own daily workload schedule and relevant resources requirements
  • Thoroughly executes routine sanitizations of the manufacturing suite according to set procedures, with occasional use of a half faced respirator or other approved personal protective equipment
  • Thoroughly executes routine sanitization and maintenance of the manufacturing equipment in accordance to set procedures
  • Ensures and maintains the availability of adequate resources (equip, inventory/materials, documentation, etc.) for the completion of daily production tasks
    • Responsible for inventory management through use of an electronic and paper based inventory system
    • Responsible for the execution of transporting, handling, and the disinfection of manufacturing materials in accordance to established procedures for use within a cleanroom environment
    • Responsible for stocking and maintenance of gowning supplies
  • Responsible for the autoclaving of manufacturing materials.
  • Responsible for collection and proper disposal of biohazard waste
  • Performance of Production related data entry into an electronic database
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications, including but not limited to; gowning qualification
  • Completes and reviews associated documentation in a timely fashion

Qualifications

  • At minimum, an associates degree in any life science or engineering field or at least 3 years experience working in a laboratory environment

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit at desk, in meetings and/or work on a computer
  • Physically capable of standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting and bending
  • Majority of some days spent on feet in laboratory setting
  • Climbing a mobile ladder and/or other types of ladders on occasion with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must perform PPE gowning procedures on a daily basis to enter BioSafety Level II including laboratory scrubs (shirt and pants) and appropriate shoes as required in most areas associated with this position
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull 30 pounds
  • Potential limited exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or harsh disinfectants while in BioSafety Level II
  • Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours sometimes on short notice as required
  • Ability to work under specific time constraints and within both an office and laboratory setting
