Overview

The Laboratory Suport Technician at Cook Myosite Inc. will be responsible to establish, maintain and assist with performance of all tasks that facilitate the manufacturing of products which meet company standards, operating procedures, and Quality System standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Executes own daily workload schedule and relevant resources requirements
  • Ensures and maintains the availability of adequate resources (equip, inventory/materials, documentation, etc.) for the completion of daily production tasks
  • Responsible for inventory management through use of an electronic inventory system
  • Responsible for the execution of transporting, handling, and the disinfection of manufacturing materials in accordance to established procedures for use within a cleanroom environment
  • Responsible for stocking and maintenance of gowning supplies
  • Responsible for autoclaving of manufacturing materials
  • Responsible for collection and proper disposal of biohazard waste • Thoroughly executes routine sanitization and maintenance of the manufacturing suite and equipment in accordance to set procedures
  • Performance of Production related data entry into an electronic database
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications, including but not limited to; gowning qualification
  • Completes and reviews associated documentation in a timely fashion
  • Participates in the transfer process of new products to production; may assist in providing training to new personnel in both general and specific technical processes
  • Maintenance, preparation and operation of equipment/components for work tasks

Qualifications

  • Associates’ degree in any Life Science or relevant field, or at least 2 years’ experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Ongoing commitment to upgrading knowledge, job skills and abilities in addition to competency related to all duties and responsibilities listed above
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in both collaborative and independent work situations with minimal supervision
  • Effective organization and communication skills

 

Physical Requirements:

  • General office, warehouse and laboratory setting with potential (limited) exposure to hazardous chemicals and/or harsh disinfectants while in BioSafety Level II
  • Must be able to sit at desk, in meetings and/or work on a computer for long or extended periods of time
  • Ability to spend majority of day standing in warehouse setting or sitting in biological safety hood setting • Ability to conduct and hear ordinary conversation and telephone communication
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Visual and manual acuity for working with computers and equipment • Must be capable of performing PPE gowning procedures on a frequent basis to enter BioSafety Level II, including safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory scrubs (pants and shirt) and appropriate shoes required on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required
