Overview

The Facilities Manager is responsible for coordinating and providing custodial and maintenance services/repairs for the facility property, building and grounds. The Facilities Manager manages day-to-day operations and provides leadership and direction to the functional team.

Responsibilities

• Assure the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, etc.
• Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance and repair of the facility using maintenance, calibration, custodial staff,
• Coordinate and schedule vendors/contractors for routine maintenance and repair of the facility, utilities and process equipment as needed
• Manage and train maintenance, custodial and support employees in the maintenance of buildings and grounds
• Ensure workplace safety and security within CFR, EPA, OSHA, ISO standards across all areas, and assures compliance with other related codes/regulations
• Ensure that the facility consistently represents the company through the most efficient use of resources
• Conduct performance reviews of direct reports
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards

• Review and approve documentation, expense reports and vendor invoices, etc.
• Foster and maintain a workplace culture respectful and supportive of individual differences
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associates, BS degree in facilities management preferred or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in facility/maintenance leadership, or management is strongly preferred

• Knowledge of appropriate CFR, cGMP, ISO, USP, EPA and OSHA standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, etc.)

 

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear
• Occasionally required to sit
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 100 pounds

• Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception
• Ability to travel approximately 20% as necessary to other facilities
