The Procurement Specialist at Cook Myosite Inc. will create, execute, and monitor effective procurement, vendor management, and contract management policies and procedures.


Procurement Operations

• Provide staff with purchasing support and order placements, including preparing purchase orders, soliciting bid proposals, reviewing/approving requisitions for goods and services and writing/reviewing product specifications
• Coordinate with corporate accounts receivable and accounts payable to execute the orders
• Create and maintain Sage software, purchasing procedures and documentation systems geared towards purchasing
• Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services and determine corrective action
• Study sales records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing programs that facilitate employee access to supplies

Vendor Management

• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
• Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices
• Maintain updated vendor files and vendor account information; continually track and asses vendor performance; assist in evaluating and selecting vendors; maintain vendor complaint system;  maintain vendor qualification program


Contract Management

• Manage and maintain Cook MyoSite contracts including Drafting, Evaluation, Negotiation and Execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements, Quality Agreements, Supply Agreements, Sub-contracts, Consulting Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Master Agreements, review of customer proposed terms and conditions, Distribution Agreements (resellers, agents, joint marketing etc.), Commercial and Public (Federal, State and Local Municipalities) Contracting
• Serve as the liaison for employees, customers and vendors on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations
• Work with Cook Group legal team or other established legal teams to review, revise, and approve Cook MyoSite contracts
• Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects.
• Develop, implement and monitor procedures for contract management and administration, bid proposals and procurement of goods and services in compliance with company policy
• Work with Finance to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies, export controls etc.
• Support Product Management / Marketing to ensure company products and services are offered with appropriate, competitive terms and conditions
• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes


• Bachelor's degree in Business or at least 8 years of relevant experience in procurement and contract management
• Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses
• Experience in applying organizational standards when developing requests for proposals, negotiating terms and drafting contracts
• Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one and group situations

• Ability to prioritize tasks and problem solve
• Exemplary typing, organization and communication skills
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software


Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit at desk, in meetings and/or work on a computer the majority of the day
• Physically capable of standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting and bending with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be able to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, extended work hours and/or extra work hours, sometimes on short notice as required

• Ability to work under specific time constraints
• Minimal light lifting on an occasional non-routine basis
• Possible limited exposure to hazardous chemicals where lab coat and safety glasses are required
• Office setting
