Overview

The Supplier Account Lead assures that Cook has the ability to procure quality materials that will allow the manufacture of safe and effective medical devices. The Supplier Account Lead represents Cook in a professional manner and acts as a liaison between all areas of Cook & the supplier and helps facilitate interactions. The agent will act as the supplier account manager for select suppliers which includes building & maintaining relationships.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports
• Provide legible and accurate documentation
• Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files and reports
• Respond to vendor inquiries
• Assure quality materials are in production when needed
• Meet with existing and prospective suppliers
• Obtain competitive/comparative quotes from suppliers
• Research, recommend, and participate in the qualification process of new or alternative suppliers
• Travel to suppliers, trade shows, or for training as necessary
• Communicate with suppliers via phone, e-mail, and written correspondence
• Assist purchasing management with related purchasing functions
• Ability to learn processes and gain understanding of the purchasing system

• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the Science field is required; an additional Business or Supply Chain degree or certificate is preferred
• Experience with managing multiple commodity areas and tasks effectively in a fast-paced work environment
• Experience in the Biotechnology, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or other Medical-related fields preferred
• Experience in manufacturing procedures, work orders, working in a GMP regulated environment preferred
• APICS certification desired (CPIM / CSCP)
• ERP experience in Inventory Warehouse Management / Materials Management / Procurement modules
• Experience with New Product introduction and plant startups preferred
• Previous technical writing experience preferred
• Previous experience owning manufacturing deviations/investigations preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage collaboration and influence cross-functionally for process improvement initiatives
• Basic understanding of regulatory documentation and terminology
• Ability to apply regulations and guidelines governing biological product development to overall strategic process development
• Proficiency with MS Office software
