Overview

Leads a group of employees within the Tool Room. Provides input to Manager regarding employees’ performance and assists Manager in identifying and resolving problems that effect productivity. Organizes the groups work and ensures that proper
materials, tools and written instructions are available. Monitors groups’ compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

•Aids in the assistance of operation per leadership directives. Duties/Responsibilities include assigning work, ordering materials, coordinating tasks between tool makers, identify improvement opportunities, and assist in the development and evaluation of tool room employees.

•Attends meetings to discuss current and future state of business practices with a focus on continuous improvement. Maintain a clean work area and assist in cleaning common areas of the shop.

•Machine tooling and components to meet tooling work order requirements in a safe and efficient manner. Verify work for compliance to prints and specifications. Manual or computer-controlled machining methods are used.

•Operate standard manual machining equipment.

Qualifications

Minimally Required

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to read tooling prints
• Basic computer skills

• Mechanical Aptitude
•Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Leadership skills

 

Preferred/Specialized

• Vocational schooling

• Technical background

• Planning of tool room work for efficiency

•Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
•CNC programming / machining capabilities

 

Physical Requirements:

• Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is moderate to occasionally loud
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds or more
• Frequent repetitive motion

• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, carry, feel or touch; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; communicate
• Proper attire/clothing and personal protective equipment/clothing as required within Controlled Production Areas
