Overview

This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Indiana supporting the initiatives of the Materials Science team. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. All internship positions are assigned a direct mentor and each position provides real-world experience experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.

 

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures pertinent to tasks being performed

• Provide support to other Materials Science team members upon request and where reasonable

• Learn quickly about project background and project objectives

• Coordinate resources to meet project needs and deadlines

• Ensure accurate and complete documentation

 

Qualifications

- College or University Junior or Senior preferred working towards a bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry (Graduate students also considered)  
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 
- Must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university 

 

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States without any need for current or future visa sponsorship. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this temporary position and will not consider candidates that have a future sponsorship need.

 

Physical Requirements: 

- On-site and hybrid positions that work under general office environmental conditions 
- Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc. 
- Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat and gloves may be required in some areas associated with this position 

- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA.
