The Senior Director, Global IT Business Partnership is the executive leader responsible for aligning global IT technology initiatives with enterprise business goals. This role acts as a strategic liaison between IT and business units, ensuring technology investments drive business value. This role blends technical expertise with business acumen to influence decision-making, innovation, transformation, and operational excellence across regions. This role reports to the Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Cook Group and Cook Medical.
This position will be based out of the Cook Medical Global Headquarters in Bloomington, IN. It may be hybrid or remote for eligible employees located within the US.
For this position, qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
• Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with senior business leaders to understand objectives and shape IT strategies accordingly.
• Advise senior management on future business direction and align IT with business/corporate priorities, strategies, and operating models.
• Shape and communicate a unified IT vision that supports enterprise growth, innovation, and digital transformation.
• Project Oversight: Lead the planning and execution of IT initiatives, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budget targets.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact between IT and business units, translating needs into technical solutions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Assists business units in defining and formulating their IT strategy through the review of business objectives and value proposition.
• Innovation & Optimization: Identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency, customer experience, or competitive advantage.
• Recommend long-term improvements and changes to the organization’s IT systems to support future business direction and growth
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure IT initiatives comply with internal policies and global external regulations.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of IT business partners and program managers across geographies.
• Establish, classify, and maintain documented business process and data process flows; define the expectations and vision for the process(es) and appoint process owner(s) as appropriate
• Develop and manage systems, metrics, and internal training activities needed to support objectives
• Adhere to established business plans and manage all costs incurred
• Foster a supportive and productive work environment that aligns with Cook culture and values
• Support employees in mapping a career pathway, and provide development opportunities to help them meet their objectives
• Evaluate continuous improvement opportunities accordingly and implement, if appropriate, as we strive to improve and evolve our processes and procedures
• Collaborate, negotiate and influence other executives, staff, board members, and external parties on behalf of Cook, Divisions, Functions, Entities, etc.
• Manage and safeguard all Cook Medical intellectual property
• Ensure that all aspects of the organization operate holistically in support of our objectives as stated in our Annual Business Plan and in compliance with the Cook Group Code of Conduct and written standards
• Ensure all communications (verbal and written) are within Cook Medical’s Ethics and Compliance guidelines
• Lead, hire, support, and provide guidance to all direct reports in compliance with the Cook Group Code of Conduct
• Establish and maintain open communications to ensure employee engagement and participation
• Promote and safeguard the organization’s culture and its reputation as an ethical company, inclusive and respectful employer, and good neighbor
Minimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
• 15+ years of experience in multiple IT disciplines
• Proven experience in IT leadership roles, ideally in a business-facing capacity.
• Strong understanding of both business operations and IT systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strategic thinking with a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes through technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence others at various levels
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Proven problem-solving skills across a matrix organization
• Excellent organizational skills
• Highly motivated self-starter
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
• Works under general office environment conditions
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
• Availability and willingness to travel on company business based on requirements of the role (domestically and internationally)
