The primary purpose of this position is to lead a team of Engineers focused on the research, development and implementation of medical devices for Cook Medical.
Responsible to monitor and direct the execution of all designs and deliverables produced by the team.
Provide technical and non-technical direction for projects/tasks.
Identify ways to expedite projects and avoid historical mistakes.
Work with customers, physician advisory boards, and internal experts to ensure projects meet market needs.
Give input on project resource estimates and current resource allocation.
Provide feedback to management on areas for improvement.
Communicate and work closely with other functions to define projects, objectives, and identify and troubleshoot project issues.
Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
A minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
Strong proven people management skills.
Proven project management capability.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Willingness and availability to travel on company business.
Experience leading projects through the entire R&D process (feasibility, testing, transfer to manufacturing, validation) (preferred).
A history of high-performance demonstrating proficiency in several of the above listed job functions/duties.
Physical Requirements:
Works under general office environmental conditions.
Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
