Overview

This role is a social media and content development internship for the Stride Center, a local non-profit that Cook helped to found. Cook is offering this internship as part of our continued support of the Stride Center and the community in South Central Indiana.

 

The Stride Center is a mental health and substance use crisis center based in Bloomington, Indiana.

 

This position is a part-time, paid internship. It is offered for a period extending from August 2025 through May 2026.This position includes 401(k) options and an assigned mentor. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. 

Responsibilities

• Write and design content for social media and other channels, including Facebook, Instagram, email newsletters, presentations, etc.
• Develop social media strategy to highlight content related to Stride, mental health and addiction.
• Research and implement strategies that boost social media engagement, including developing engagement strategies for community pages.
• Research competitor organization's social media accounts to identify industry trends
• Create and use a content calendar
• Use publishing and design tools like Sprout Social and Canva.

Qualifications

• All candidates should have a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others
• Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
• Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Marketing, General Business, and Management)

• Experience in social media
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Experience with content creation (writing and designing)
• Graphic design skills
• Experience using social media metrics to track content success
