Overview

Position Summary:

The Distribution Coordinator – International Department supports global shipping operations by coordinating the efficient and timely movement of goods across international borders. This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, prepares documentation, and communicates with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to maintain a seamless supply chain.

 

Responsibilities

• Liaison between internal and external customers and AMER Delivery Center on key initiatives.
• Drive multiple projects, tasks, and priorities through strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Coordinate international shipments from origin to destination, ensuring accuracy in documentation and timely delivery.
• Communicate with third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to track shipments and resolve issues.
• Prepare and verify export/import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Monitor inventory movements related to international distribution and support inventory accuracy through ERP or WMS systems.
• Ensure compliance with customs, import/export regulations, and company policies.
• Work closely with the sales, customer support, planning, and warehouse teams to align shipping schedules with customer demand.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, freight costs, and delivery performance.
• Support continuous improvement projects in international logistics and distribution efficiency.
• Analyze, implement, improve, and support efficient, flexible, and scalable processes.
• Represent AMER Distribution Center through conference calls, presentations, and business conversations as needed.
• Initiate and execute projects based on functional areas to support operational efficiencies, strategies, and initiatives.
• Coordinate intake of feedback and idea generation for continuous improvement projects to PMO.
• Responsible for key process changes to quality documents in the internal system to maintain compliance to the Quality Management System.
• Provide data and analytics to Team Lead in area of expertise.

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associates degree or higher preferred
• 5+ years previous relevant or warehouse experience required
• Strong presentation skills and relationship building skills preferred
• 2 years experience with Cook preferred
• Warehouse Management System knowledge (WMS) preferred
• Yellow Belt in continuous improvement preferred
• Experience with quality document control systems is preferred 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

 

Physical Requirements:

• Requires some early morning or late evening meetings
• Must be willing to travel, if needed
• Works under fast-paced conditions
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment
