Overview

You can earn your Illinois High School Equivalency Diploma (GED) while working at Cook part time. Work 20 hours a week and take classes at Spoon River College to prepare for the High School Equivalency Test (GED). When you pass the GED and demonstrate success in your part-time role, you could be offered a fulltime position in:

  • Production
  • Quality Control
  • Packaging

Responsibilities

 You Will:

  • Work approximately 20 hours per week
  • Work in an assigned position that is available
  • be actively enrolled classes given by Spoon River Community College 
  • Take the GED and complete the classes within 1 year

 

Cook Will:

  • Provide part-time employment during the prep classes
  • Pay for hours worked
• Provide 401(k) and quarterly bonus benefits while you are working part-time

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in Spoon River’s GED Program
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

 

Cook currently projects the hourly pay starting at $16.00/hour for this position. In addition, this role will be eligible for an additional variable bonus opportunity based on company performance. Part-time employees will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package to include a company-sponsored 401(k) and profit-sharing plan. Finally, in its sole discretion, Cook reserves the right to amend modify or terminate any compensation or benefit program at any time and Cook’s compensation practices and guidelines will apply regarding the terms of promotion or transfer of existing Cook employees.
