Overview

The Budgets and Contracts Specialist at Cook Research Incorporated is responsible for supporting the Legal team by developing, drafting, negotiating, executing, and processing contracts and agreements with global sites, vendors, and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts, budgets and payment terms with investigative sites, vendors and constultants who partner with us in clinical research studies;

Responsible for status tracking and follow up with investigative sites and internal stakeholders to facilitate the orderly and timely negotiation and execution of pending projects;

Provide electronic technology support as needed (e.g., maintaining and updating our contract lifecycle management system);

Provide support for contract/budget activities;

Present a professional demeanor in all communications, a task that necessitates perceptive and respectful awareness of the relationships that have been developed over time; and

Work closely with internal stakeholders to meet their needs and expectations and at all times, presenting an open and helpful attitude that supports the Legal Team’s commitment to meeting company objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum of associate’s degree or post-secondary certification in accounting, finance, paralegal studies or a related field of study (equivalent experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education);

Experience working in clinical research is preferred;

Experience negotiating contracts, budgets and payment terms; 

Proven ability to communicate and work professionally and effectively with colleagues and external parties;

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;

• Extreme attention to detail;

• Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and ability to use other common workplace software tools (e.g., MS Word and Adobe Acrobat editing) and basic office equipment;

• Familiarity with updating and maintaining computerized database and document management systems; and

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
