Overview

The Engineering Test Lab Specialist solves various testing related problems, assists in test method development, and performs testing studies for a wide range of medical devices across multiple strategic business units.

Responsibilities

- Run short term, long-term, and/or design focused projects, or complete significant tasks critical to projects.
- Demonstrates advanced skills in all facets of testing and independent project work.
- Use independent judgment to make decisions on significant issues relating to testing and project work.
- Serve as a mentor, trainer, and resource to the department for aspects critical to performing job functions.
- Perform testing according to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) as defined by CFR Title 21, part 58.
- Create and build test apparatuses for various test methods.
- Assist in development of test methods.
- Assist with generating protocols and reports.
- Teach, mentor and provide technical direction to peers.
- Identify and communicate department issues to management.
- Build effective working relationships across multiple functions within Cook facilities.

- Ensure scientific validity of testing during study performance.
- Perform inspections of studies at intervals adequate to assure the integrity of the study and associated documentation.
- Maintain written and properly signed records of inspections.

 

Qualifications

- AS or BS degree in relevant field; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background.
- 2 years experience that relates directly to the above essential job functions/duties.
- Experience working independently and with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (ie: Word, Excel).
