Overview

The 2024 Cook Inc. Internship position is a 12-week paid internship located in Vandergrift, PA. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, on-site cafeteria option, an assigned mentor, one-time housing stipend, capstone presentation, intern events, and more. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.

Responsibilities

Support the development and improvement of processes and tools for CVI Supplier Relationship Management.

 

Objectives:

• Understand the commercial relationship between raw material, supplies and services suppliers with manufacturing companies
• Use part data (value, quality impact, etc.) to assess supplier risk
• Identify and support tools (data and metrics) used to evaluate supplier performance

• Evaluate supply risk

 

Job Functions:

• Use (and/or develop) data templates to track various aspects of supplier performance
• Interact with Purchasing, Receiving and Supplier Quality team members to understand supplier issues
• Documentation of supplier performance management tools and incorporation into Daily Management and CVI QMS as necessary
• Creating of training material to explain supplier reporting tools

 

Potential Projects:
• Development and refinement of supplier metrics reporting and tracking
• Data collection and completion of Supplier risk management database
• Creation of a standard report for supplier business reviews
• Creation of a shared file area (SharePoint) for supplier improvement action tracking and follow-up
• Freight spend analysis; market survey and management of RFP process
• Establish supplier return process (as part of broader Material Review Board process)

 

Qualifications

Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior years the following Fall Semester. Graduate students are also eligible 
- A minimum GPA of 3.0
- All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
- Supply Chain or Business Studies student
- Understanding of Supply Chain principles
- Ability to use office package (Excel PowerPoint, and Word)
- Good communicator
