Overview

This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Vandergrift, PA It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to an onsite cafeteria option and a one-time housing stipend. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Facilities Manager in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of building infrastructure and systems.
  • Gain hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as opportunities to participate in various projects aimed at optimizing facility operational efficiency, management, safety, and compliance.
  • Ensure new or modified asset information is properly transferred into Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system.
  • Define and create technical specifications for a wide variety of projects.
  • Working closely with Building Management System (BMS) team to create graphical interfaces, identify and resolve mechanical issues, design limitations, control device malfunctions, or software problems.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints, specifications and sketches and develop/modify CAD drawing for facility or systems. Experience with Autodesk Revit or Auto CAD are required.
  • Work closely with Lead Engineer in planning, documenting, commissioning, and start-up of new and modified facilities and system installs/upgrades.
  • Collaborate on multiple complex projects with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Work with complex/critical equipment and systems to identify potential areas of improvement

Qualifications

• All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others.
• Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible. 
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred. 
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration. 
• Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Engineering, Technical, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management, Science, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, Project Management and Architectural )

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are preferred.
• Occasionally lifts and/or move more than 50 pounds.
