Overview

The Senior Solution Architect is responsible for leading the overall technical design of the solution and for oversight of technical decisions within the project. In alignment with enterprise architectural practices, the solution architect works closely with a team of Solutions Managers, Business Systems Analysts, UX Designers, and others to ensure a high quality, well-designed solution is delivered to the client.

 

Ensure Cook Medical solutions, technology infrastructure, ongoing support and operations are enabled to achieve success with AI initiatives (e.g. Copilot, Azure OpenAI / CookGPT, and LOOPTECH). 

Responsibilities

  • Understand and champion:
    • The vision of AI initiatives and has the passion and commitment to see that vision realized.
    • The business case and value proposition of each AI initiative (why, why now, risk of not).
    • The AI initiatives by building organizational support and alignment within the IT organization.
  • Collaborate with the AI Initiatives Leadership Team:
    • Partner with the Business Leads and Leadership Team for AI initiatives to ensure the AI initiatives are successfully delivered.
  • Accountable for:
    • Enabling IT systems/applications/technology to meet the requirements of AI initiatives.
    • Aligning systems and solutions with the Cook Medical Systems and Data Architecture Guidelines and Standards.
    • Determining and prioritizing IT initiatives / requirements and resources that impact the success of AI initiatives.
    • Effective coordination with Enterprise Data (Major Program Cheetah) and others Cook Medical programs, teams, and initiatives.
    • Effective coordination with external IT partners (e.g., Kalypso, Deloitte, Salesforce, Veeva) on IT related issues.
    • Escalating and resolving IT risks, issues, concerns, and impediments for AI initiatives in a timely manner.

 

• Leads project project teams to define and document the architecture for a variety of projects
• Provide support to the project team members, during functional requirements definition to ensure that functionality is both technically achievable and feasible within the project constraints
• Work with members of the team to ensure that the solution design and implementation meets the architectural goals and applicable standards
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks
• Provide oversight to multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery of well-designed solutions
• Ensure the architecture of a solution adheres to enterprise principles and standards across all architectural domains
• Core contributor on the development and implementation of enterprise architecture standards

Qualifications

• Advanced technical university degree(s) or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years experience in multiple fields of Information Technology such as applications, databases, infrastructure or security
• Demonstrated progressive experience in software/solution architecture design or development

• Experience with multiple technology platforms, patterns and frameworks
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities

• Demonstrated ability to manage conflict, communication & resources across multiple projects and stakeholders

• Works under general office environment conditions

• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA

• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences

• International and domestic travel as required
