Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst with a specialized focus on data analytics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to translate business needs into actionable insights. In addition, we are looking for a self-starter who is driven, curious and entrepreneurial. This role will play a crucial part in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization and requires attention to detail and a practical and executable approach to data analysis and modeling.

** This role is a hybrid position. Candidate must reside within 2 hours via car of the Cook Medical location and is required to work onsite as needed per Manager expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:
    - Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to business objectives.
    - Interpret and communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.  
    - Utilize analytical skills to evaluate and compare vendor proposals, considering factors such as cost, quality, and delivery time-lines   
    - Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the overall value and risk associated with each proposal  
    - Prepare detailed analysis reports and present findings to decision-makers
  •  Requirements Gathering:  
    - Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data-related needs and requirements.  
    - Document and prioritize data requirements to ensure alignment with business goals.  
    - Identify and map stakeholders for each data source
  • Data Modeling:  
    - Develop and maintain data models that support business processes and requirements.  
    - Work closely with database administrators and data engineers to ensure effective data management.
  • Dashboard and Report Development:  
    - Design and create dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to facilitate decision-making.  
    - Ensure that reporting solutions meet the needs of end-users and provide actionable insights.
  • Quality Assurance:  
    - Conduct thorough data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytics outputs.  
    - Identify and address data quality issues and discrepancies.6. Continuous Improvement
    - Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in data analytics
    - Identify gaps in data / business understanding and conceptualize plan to gain visibility  
    - Propose and implement improvements to existing analytics processes and tools.
    - Build, document and maintain data-gathering practices
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:  
    - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment of data analytics initiatives with overall business strategies

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, International Relations, Engineering)

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel is a must

  • Strong proficiency in data visualization and statistical analysis; knowledge of tools such as Alteryx,Tableau or PowerBI is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships

Physical Requirements:

 

• Works under general office environment conditions
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA

• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
• International and domestic travel as required
