Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst 2 at Cook Medical within the Business Insights department, is a technical and business knowledge-based position.

The successful candidate in this position will have the ability to organize and present complex/raw data in a way that tells a compelling story, provides actionable insights, and drives business decisions as well as driving projects forward in a timely manner.

** This role is a hybrid position. Candidate must reside within 2 hours via car of the Cook Medical location and is required to work onsite as needed per Manager expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Help keep projects on task and within required timeframes; set scope and milestones.
  • Understand how data can be used and the relationships to other data ensuring reports are user-friendly to end users, while meeting current and future reporting needs.
  • Support application environment, ensuring that the user interface is intuitive and system security is enforced. Test and roll-out new updates to users.
  • Give presentations to user groups on content, philosophy, or reporting roll-out plans.
  • Collaborate with and educate end users in the design of custom Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, metrics; report and execute the development.
  • Peer Review of dashboards and reports prior to release.
  • Design and create innovative visualizations and dashboards to meet business needs, exhibiting a natural curiosity to identify patterns, trends, and performance insights.
  • Peer review of team member dashboards.
  • Work closely with the analytics core team to ensure the data warehouse and analytical tool-set work effectively across teams, sharing new ideas and techniques regularly.
  • Actively participate in and influence discussions around reporting requirements, infrastructure needs, and design.
  • Bring structure to ambiguous business problems and recommend visualization that can be easily interpreted by users.
  • Active contributor in continuously improving business processes and standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for multiple projects concurrently through all phases of the development life-cycle.
  • Communicate and report project progress related to schedule and work performance to the necessary stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Have the ability to translate and communicate technical concepts into language users with no prior subject matter knowledge can understand.
  • Have the ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical design and programming specifications.
  • Work closely with developers to define data structure and integrity.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for multiple projects concurrently through all phases of the development life-cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or experience of such kind and amount to provide a comparable background
  • 3+ years in reporting and/or analysis role.
  • Excellent knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills.
  • Advanced experience with end user report and dataset design, development and implementation with a strong focus on SAP Business Objects.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive deadlines, balancing multiple priorities, and ensuring quality standards.
  • Experience communicating technical details to technical and non-technical resources.
  • Advanced experience with SQL, Qlik or other coding languages.
  • Advanced experience in managing data related projects.

Physical Requirements:

 

• Works under general office environment conditions
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA

• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
• International and domestic travel as required
