The QAC Laboratory Microbiologist I at Cook Incorporated is responsible for monitoring environmental systems and products to provide support for production, facility, engineering, and quality departments.
• Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control testing of product, facilities, and critical systems
• Perform entry-level method development and R&D projects
• Assist with general or advanced method development and R&D projects
• Maintain laboratory equipment, facility systems, etc.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Generate reports
• Perform accurate and compliant data and record management
• Develop and maintain laboratory procedures.
• Assist with general or advanced method development and R&D projects
• Learn relative regulations
• Train, understand, and perform assays according to procedures and regulations
• Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth
• Adhere to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field, or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
• Working knowledge and understanding of regulations
• Laboratory experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Physical Requirements:
• Works under general office environment conditions
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate
• Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat and gloves may be required in some areas associated with this position
• Occasionally lifting with moderate exertion during shift
