Overview

The Technical Architect is responsible for the design and build of solutions that meet system requirements and align to organizational initiatives. Sets technology direction and provides oversight for technical decisions within assigned areas of focus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, build, test, and implement IT systems and technology within assigned domain.
• Conduct technology or product exploration, prototypes, and pilots that are aligned with overall IT direction to deliver innovative IT solutions.
• Evaluate and select technology and that best fit business and project needs.
• Develop technology and product standards and define overall platform structures.
• Coordinate and explore ways to scale, automate, and increase functionality of services.
• Work across multi-disciplined teams and subject matter experts to ensure a well-integrated set of solutions adhere to enterprise standards.
• Create and manage technology strategies, roadmaps, and architectural artifacts.

• Conduct analysis of industry best practices, emerging technology, and market offerings to proactively advance capabilities.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks per strategy or project.
• Serve as a technical escalation point within the team.
• Serve as a direct contact point for customers and and suppliers for input on direction.
• Provide decision making, leadership, and coaching or mentoring to the extended team.
• Demonstrate expert level of communication skills and leading in a highly collaborative and independent environment.
• Represent service offerings to stakeholders with a strong customer service orientation.

 

Qualifications

• Desired – Experience in RedPrairie/JDA/Blue Yonder WMS Development and Configuration/Set-up.

• Desired - Experience in/ability to learn on the job - SharePoint architecture, SharePoint site administration & Management.

• Experience with MS SQL Server, SQL, MOCA, Report Designer and any other Reporting Tool, Page Builder, Integrator, C/C#, Java, Groovy, Jasper Reports, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Experience/ability to learn MOCA, Nice Label, BY Page Builder, BY Integrator, ParserHandler – JDA

• Experience in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or related field.

• Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.

• Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.

• Working knowledge of Barcode Scanners.

• Experience/ability to learn various versions of JDA WMS (2017 or Higher)

• Ability and willingness to develop an understanding of data integration API.

  

• Advanced technical university degree(s) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of prior relevant work experience.
• Expert level industry technical certifications.

• Possess an expert level knowledge of multiple subject matters.
• Performs work with a high degree of latitude across teams.
• Handles the most complex issues and escalations from other teams.
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management and strategic planning leadership.

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment: 

• Works under general office environment conditions
• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA

• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
• International and domestic travel as required
