Overview

The person in this position will assist and provide support for maintaining and tracking legal agreements sent and received by Cook Biotech.  This person will also assist with business reporting, database retrieval, scheduling, coordination of meetings, departmental organization, and many other daily activities of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Proofread and type technical documents, letters and correspondence.
  • Retrieve articles, textbooks, patents or other publications from various databases.
  • Coordinate in tracking, executing, and distributing legal agreements, including MUAs, NDAs, SRAs, PSAs, and others companywide.
  • Review contracts as needed for compliance to corporate standards and interface with corporate review.
  • Perform data entry duties in various computer databases.
  • Provide reports from various computer databases and consult with IP Legal Team for potential of setting up new databases as needed.
  • Coordinate travel, scheduling, and expense reporting for other management as needed.
  • Provide responses to Counsel and facilitate all IP matters.
  • Assist in planning and executing IP awards dinner and update patent issued plaques.
  • Assist Management with other corporate duties when required.
  • Remain current and apply the understanding of FDA-ISO 13485 and Quality System Requirements in carrying out duties.

Qualifications

  • Excellent listening, writing and verbal skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Able to work with multiple persons and the multiple priorities that occur when each person has different needs.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing and data base retrieval.
  • Able to handle multiple and changing priorities along with fluctuations in workload.
  • Experience in basic office equipment: e.g., fax, copier, computer, printers, phone systems, etc.
  • Able to present a professional and personable demeanor in phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Strong interest in science and/or medicine desired.
  • Paralegal degree or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical principles.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodations
  • Limited exposure to hazardous chemicals used in the manufacture of the product or prototypes.
  • Physical demands are typical of an office and classroom environment.
