This position is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Spencer, or Ellettsville Indiana. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, and intern events. If working onsite, you will also have access to a fitness center, an onsite cafeteria option, and a one-time housing stipend. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.



  • Internal Communications, Change Management, Employee Engagement.


  • Gain experience with internal communications in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Gain experience managing change and engaging employees in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

Job Functions:

  • Work closely with our communications manager to help surface and create content for internal communication initiatives. Will include independent travel to all Cook Inc. sites.

  • Work closely with our employee engagement manager to receive feedback from and help communicate to employees as part of various changes going on at Cook Inc.

Potential Projects:

  • Assist with ongoing implementation of enterprise-wide communication app – Staffbase/Life at Cook. This system will require a constant stream of relevant content. This person will help find and create same.
  • CINC has several ongoing changes to our organization. Strategic, structural, etc. Improving how we engage our employees as they navigate change is of critical importance to us.  This person will be able to assist with the creation and execution of change management plans to build awareness, desire, knowledge, etc. within our employee base.


  • All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others
  • Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
  • All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
  • Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Marketing, Life Sciences, General Business, and Management) 
  • 2-3 years of undergraduate study in communication, journalism, marketing, or similar
  • Working in groups or teams is preferred
  • Working knowledge of social media content development preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and travel locally with at least one overnight trip to our Canton facility. We can arrange transportation if needed.
