The Contracts Attorney at Cook Advanced Technologies is responsible for the development, drafting, negotiation, and processing of contracts with various vendors and consultants.
Work closely with employees and external stakeholders to draft, review, negotiate, and process contracts in support of Cook objectives
Support budget development and negotiate budgets associated with contracts
Continuously support the development, implementation, and review of legal processes to meet the evolving needs of the Cook organization
Establish trusted relationships with colleagues, vendors, and consultants through active communication and a commitment to exceeding expectations
Advise on legal and compliance issues related to Cook business
Support the development and ongoing modification of agreement templates to expedite the execution of contracts in a dynamic global environment
Present a professional demeanor in all communications and interactions with persons internal and external to Cook
Work in a global environment across many cultures and regions
Participate in and complete continuing education courses to stay current with best practices and regulations related to job responsibilities
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, licensed to practice law in one of 50 states
Previous experience in contract development, drafting, and negotiation
Familiarity and sensitivity to cultural differences on a global scale and attentive to regional differences in approaches to contract negotiation and business communication
Strong understanding of data protection and privacy laws and regulations on a global scale
Conscientious person with an outstanding work ethic and strong personal discipline
Willingness and capability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities and the potential for a large workload requiring the need to prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information from disclosure
Sufficiently assertive to address confrontational situations or contentious negotiations while maintaining professionalism
Proficient in using IT platforms related to contracting, including the Microsoft Office Suite
Strong ability to self-start and to take a proactive role in solving problems
Excellent organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability and desire to work in a collegial team atmosphere
