Overview

This position, at Cook Advanced Technologies, involves developing, validating and sustaining manufacturing processes.  The position will also be involved with collaborating with design engineers to assist in development of designs that are readily manufactured. 

Responsibilities

This position requires a technically sound engineer capable of driving a project to completion with minimal supervision.  A qualified candidate should be able to perform independent work utilizing all available tools and resources and communicate well with colleagues, vendors and customers.  Job functions may include:

  • Develop, refine, document and sustain manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with design engineers to refine designs, translate to pilot production, and/or transfer the design to manufacturing
  • Identify resource needs to support manufacturing processes, including equipment, personnel and facilities
  • Work with production coordinators and manufacturing personnel to create efficient processes and to maximize production yield
  • Lead process risk management activities
  • Qualify manufacturing processes and validate when necessary
  • Ensure manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work-flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Assure product and process quality by designing, validating and documenting inspection and test methods
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
  • Assist with training of production operators and technicians by creating and administering training materials
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for manufacturing personnel
  • Document relevant activities in design history files
  • Work on a team with project leaders, development engineers, physicians, clinical, regulatory and quality team members

Qualifications

  • MS in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering or equivalent industry experience preferred, Bachelors degree with 5+ years experience will be considered
  • Experience or expertise in design for manufacturing
  • Experience with engineering design tools: CAD, etc.
  • Experience with manufacturing process qualifications and validations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written form
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Cook AT does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN) for this employment position.
