The Facilities Manager at Cook Research Incorporated manages the day-to-day resources and provides leadership and strategic direction for the CRI Facilities team in order to achieve Cook global business needs.  This appointed position is responsible for managing building and grounds maintenance and shipping and receiving.


• Perform work in accordance with local and state codes

• Contribute to and maintain a safe work environment

• Performance and tracking of preventive maintenance for CRI facilities systems

• Encourage and foster employee development through mentorship and training

• Provide leadership in accordance with company policies, procedures, applicable laws and regulations that apply to your business activities

• Interface with vendors for repair and maintenance of the building and grounds

• Assist with other building maintenance duties, as necessary

• Work with HR to recruit, interview, select, hire and orient new employees

• Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish work to meet functional and company expectations for productivity and quality goals

• Foster an environment where the giving and receiving of feedback is encouraged

• Facilitate the annual employee performance review process coordinated by HR.  Encourage employee contributions through goal setting, feedback and performance development planning

• Consult HR to document, administer and resolve employee disciplinary action if required

• Maintain ongoing communication with employees through team meetings, one-on-one meetings, email and other appropriate forms of communication

• Review and approve employee requests through appropriate pathways and according to company policies (e.g. expense reports, purchase orders, PTO approval, education and tuition assistance, and hardware/software workflows)

• Establish trust relationships with Cook colleagues, management, and external stakeholders by providing respectful, mindful and purposeful communication and maintaining a commitment to exceeding expectations

• Understand, practice and model the principles of honesty and integrity as outlined in the Cook Global Code of Conduct


• Bachelor's degree in facilities management preferred or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background

• Minimum of 10 years experience in facility oversight or management is strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of appropriate CFR, ISO, EPA and OSHA standards and building systems (HVAC, electric, fire systems, security, etc.)

• Ability to present a professional and personable demeanor in interactions

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

• Valid drivers license

• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.  Cook does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position


Physical Requirements:

• Works under general office environment conditions
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or communicate
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 50 pounds
• Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception
• Ability to travel as necessary to other facilities
