Overview

The Research Associate will be responsible for execution of cell and regenerative medicine research and development activities for MED Institute, Inc. and our clients, driving innovation with strong scientific principles and high standards of integrity and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experimental, hands-on laboratory work in support of MED Institute’s regenerative medicine business service;
  • Interact with senior Research Scientists to plan, execute, and report results of experiments, tests, prototype development, literature surveys, etc;
  • Culture and maintain a variety of primary mammalian cell types and traditional lab cell lines;
  • Execute cell-based and other multi-well format assays;
  • Maintain laboratory areas in a state this is suitable for good, repeatable science;
  • Perform general lab tasks as required, including routine maintenance and support for ordering of supplies;
  • Work in close collaboration with Research Scientist to troubleshoot cell and molecular biological issues, analyze, and interpret results;
  • Ask questions and learn about client expectations while driving toward scientific excellence;
  • Execute work in accordance with industry best practices and external regulatory requirements;
  • Adhere to general laboratory procedures and guidelines stipulated in the SOPs; and
  • Write and maintain project documentation, including test methods, and test reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related scientific field and have experience in a lab setting;
  • Demonstrated experience with standard cell and molecular biology methods;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and team orientation; and
  • Self-directed individual who is able to work with limited direction in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate the completion of deliverables and tasks;
  • Teachable, positive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and to help;
  • Ability to effectively communicate and constructively collaborate with colleagues and collaborators from different scientific backgrounds; and
  • Ability to remain professional and positive in all personal interactions.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. MED Institute does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN) for this employment position.
