The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the procurement of quality materials which meet our quality standards and for the development and management of influential relationships within our supplier networks and the Cook organization. The Supply Chain Manager is also accountable for the performance of a designated group of supply chain activities including purchasing, vendor qualification, inventory management, and inventory planning.


- Develop and negotiate proposals to generate new cost-effective procurement opportunities with our suppliers.
- Integrate strategic processes with Cook functions - engineering, finance, quality, business units and regulatory affairs.
- Provide strategic direction for optimal use of contract resources to maximize profitability.
- Conduct business reviews with supplier customers.
- Participate in staff meetings to develop and align strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with both our suppliers and our key functional areas inside the Cook organization.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of the clinical and business aspects of the organization.
- Research, recommend and participate in the qualification process of new and/or alternative suppliers.
- Assist and/or direct team to effectively manage procurement, inventory, and quality objectives for supply chain activities.
- Travel to suppliers, trade shows and for training as necessary.
- Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth.
- Adhere to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background.
• Excellent working knowledge of procurement services, Cook quality standards and contract negotiations.
• Minimum 3 years experience in procurement, sales management, marketing, corporate or national accounts experience preferred.
• Business software experience, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Business Objects.


Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity and coordination required to operate standard office equipment.
• Travel up to 20% per year or as needed.
• Occasionally required to stand for extended periods.
• Sit for extended periods, utilize close visual acuity for working with computers, etc.
• Work under general office environmental conditions.
• Stand; walk and stoop, kneel or crouch occasionally.
