Overview

This role leads efforts to manage and grow the business of a portfolio of customers that are companies for which Cook Biotech provides products and services. These companies will have a diverse range of needs from startups to well-established companies. This person pro-actively engages with the partner companies through clear communication and coordination to achieve excellent customer experience. This person will work with the multi-disciplinary teams at Cook Biotech and the customers for the mutual benefit of both companies.  This position can be onsite, hybrid, or remote with the ability for weekly in-person meetings in Indianapolis or West Lafayette, IN.

 

Responsibilities

Grows the business

  • Manages and grows the relationship and revenue of 7-10 startup and partner company customers
  • Understands the specific markets and needs of each customer
  • Tracks the business and activities of each customer and keeps Cook Biotech informed
  • Ensures partner company meets contract and sales obligations
  • Creates plans of engagement for each client
    • Assessment of the state of the business
    • Identifies customer needs and pro-actively seeks opportunities for engagement
    • Propose strategies for CBI to support the growth of customers

Manages the customer relationship

  • Ensures clear communication and coordination between the companies
  • Communicates regularly with customer and leads business review meetings
  • Addresses the customer’s questions, complaints, and needs directly or with the appropriate team at Cook Biotech
  • Proactively seeks feedback from customer for Cook Biotech to improve relationship

Ensures the customer experience in new projects

  • Promotes potential development projects with the customer
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with Cook Biotech teams on new product development activities with Partners
  • Manages and secures service agreements with customers
  • Coordinates the pricing discussions and process for projects and new products
  • Captures and advocates for the needs of the customers during projects
  • Represents the constraints and needs of the overall business/relationship within projects
  • Ensures that Cook Biotech maintains good communication, schedule, and accountability in projects with customers

 

Other

  • Remains current and apply the understanding of FDA-ISO 13485 and Quality System Requirements in carrying out duties.
  • Conduct other corporate duties when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in a related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years of medical industry experience
  • Experience with business-to-business sales with long sales cycles and/or medical device industry preferred
  • Excels at coordinating cross-functional teams through indirect authority
  • Negotiation experience required
    • Naturally strong at developing and maintaining cross-business relationships with customers
    • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
    • Requires a professional and personable demeanor
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Ability and willingness to travel as required (~25%
